Neurosains menggabungkan ilmu dasar, eksperimental, dan formal yang mempelajari sistem saraf untuk diterapkan pada farmakologi, kedokteran klinis, dan penelitian. Pengetahuan ini memungkinkan pengembangan strategi baru untuk mencegah, mendiagnosis, mengobati, dan merehabilitasi penyakit pada sistem saraf.
Meningkatnya usia harapan hidup penduduk di negara-negara maju menantang kita untuk belajar bagaimana menua dengan cara yang sehat dan bebas dari penyakit. Masyarakat membutuhkan para profesional dengan pengetahuan tentang otak dan sistem saraf pusat yang akan memungkinkan kita untuk mengurangi efek dari penyakit neurodegeneratif seperti Alzheimer dan Parkinson. Ahli saraf juga memainkan peran kunci dalam memahami interaksi antara mekanisme perilaku dan emosional, memori, dan proses pengambilan keputusan, di satu sisi, dan dimensi fisiologis, genetik, dan terapeutik, di sisi lain. Dan berpartisipasi dalam pengembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan, baik dalam pemahaman tentang otak untuk meningkatkan algoritme yang mengimplementasikannya, dan dalam peningkatan interaksi otak-mesin.
Neurosains memiliki pendekatan multidisiplin yang nyata. Ilmu pengetahuan seperti fisika, kimia, psikologi, matematika, dan tentu saja kedokteran, saling berkaitan untuk menghasilkan pengetahuan teoretis, tetapi juga terapan, meskipun dalam kegiatan yang berbeda dari praktik medis klinis langsung.
Gelar ini diajarkan sepenuhnya dalam bahasa Inggris, memfasilitasi mobilitas internasional mahasiswa, baik dari Eropa maupun non-Eropa (Amerika Serikat, Kanada, dll.) di mana Universidad Carlos III de Madrid menjadi yang terdepan, dan memungkinkan perekrutan profesor-profesor berbakat internasional.

Exchange programs
The Erasmus program permits uc3m first-degree and post-graduate students to spend one or several terms at one of the European universities with which uc3m has special agreements or take up an Erasmus Placement, a work placement or internship at an EU company. These exchanges are funded with Erasmus Grants which the EU and the Spanish Ministry of Education provide.
The non-European mobility program enables uc3m degree students to study one or several terms in one of the international universities with which the university has special agreements. It also has funding from the Banco Santander and the uc3m.
These places are offered in a public competition and are awarded to students with the best academic record and who have passed the language threshold (English, French, German, etc..) requested by the university of destination.

Hasil Program
The Degree in Neuroscience integrates knowledge of Neurology, Biology, Psychology, Mathematics, Bioengineering, and Computation, providing applied training, but excluding direct clinical medical practice. The objective of the degree is to provide new professionals with basic knowledge in the different areas in an integrated manner that can be applied to relevant issues related to the functioning of the nervous system at a technical level and can serve as a basis for their integration into the labor market or access to more advanced specializations. To this end, the proposed training objectives are:
- Memperoleh ilmu, menunjukkan pemahaman tentang aspek teoritis dan praktis serta metodologi kerja di bidang Ilmu Saraf dengan kedalaman ilmu yang terdepan
- Memperoleh kemampuan untuk memberikan solusi kreatif dan inovatif terhadap penyelesaian masalah praktis dan teoritis berdasarkan fungsi sistem saraf dan otak; memperoleh keterampilan pemecahan masalah pribadi dan profesional dalam desain dan pelaksanaan eksperimen Neuroscience, termasuk pemodelan komputer dan teknik analisis data
- Memiliki kemampuan mengumpulkan dan menafsirkan data dan informasi yang menjadi dasar kesimpulannya, termasuk refleksi terhadap isu-isu sosial, ilmiah, atau etika di bidang Neuroscience
- Mampu mengelola situasi yang memerlukan pengembangan solusi baru di lingkungan akademik, pekerjaan, atau profesional dalam bidang Neuroscience
- Mengetahui cara berkomunikasi secara jelas dan tepat, pengetahuan, metodologi, ide, masalah, dan solusi di bidang Neuroscience
